Dental Crowns and Bridges on Sohna Road, Gurugram
A crown, or cap, covers a damaged tooth to protect it and restore its shape. A bridge replaces a missing tooth by joining a false tooth to crowns on the teeth either side. At OralH Dental Clinic in Ninex City Mart, Sector 49, crowns are commonly fitted after root canal treatment and to rebuild broken teeth.

When Do You Need a Crown?
- After root canal treatment, especially on a back tooth
- A tooth that is broken, cracked or heavily filled
- An old crown that is loose, chipped or has darkened at the gum line
- On top of a dental implant
When Is a Bridge an Option?
A bridge can close the gap left by a missing tooth without surgery, as long as the neighbouring teeth are strong enough to support it. A dental implant is the other option and stands on its own without involving the neighbouring teeth. Both are explained for your gap so you can choose.
What the Visits Involve
Preparing the tooth
The tooth is numbed and shaped so the crown fits over it. A temporary crown is placed so you do not leave with a gap.
Matching and making the crown
An impression or scan is taken and the shade is matched to your neighbouring teeth.
Fitting
The finished crown or bridge is checked for fit and bite, adjusted if needed, and cemented in place.
Looking After a Crown or Bridge
- Brush twice a day and clean between the teeth, including under a bridge
- Avoid biting very hard things such as ice or bones on the crowned tooth
- Keep regular check-ups so the gum around the crown stays healthy

Frequently asked questions
Does getting a crown hurt?
No. The tooth is numbed while it is prepared, and the fitting visit usually needs no anaesthetic.
How long does a crown last?
Often ten to fifteen years or more with good care. Grinding and biting on hard objects can shorten that.
Will the crown look natural?
Crowns are shade-matched to your own teeth so they blend in with the rest of your smile.
Bridge or implant: which is better?
It depends on the gap and the neighbouring teeth. A bridge needs no surgery; an implant does not rely on the teeth beside it. Dr Nishi explains both for your case.
